Winter coats in Montreal are a must, and since it is so long I invest in a couple. A grey one is great since it can be worn with both black and brown clothing. This one featured below on Serena from Gossip Girl is beautiful because of the intricate flower detail on the collar. I love the one on Hilary Duff because it is classic black with a twist. The ruffle detail is so cute! Blair of course has the most stunning coat ever. Gorgeous big collar with pleating on top and puffy at the bottom.
Your coat is usually the first thing people will see for 6 months and so I would recommend buying one which is unique and good quality (wool or cashmere). My favorite brand is Mackage of course (Montreal based company) because of their great fit and fabrics. Check out their newest collection:
